Muslim cemetery in Russia vandalized
Unknown individuals attacked a Muslim cemetery in the city of Kasimov, Ryazan Region, destroying several monuments, the Religious Administration of Muslims of Russia reported.
It is reported that four tombstones were knocked to the ground, including the memorial stone of Makhmud Davlitsarov, a World War II veteran born in Kasimov who showed courage in the Battle of Kursk.
Mahmud Davlitsarov was awarded the Order of the Second World War, 1st Class, for his bravery in the war.
The report states that a criminal case has now been initiated into the incident.
It should be noted that earlier it was announced that fines of up to 300,000 rubles ($3,700) were imposed for praying in public places in the Stavropol region of Russia.
