Bill Gates plans to give away almost all of his wealth to charity
Microsoft founder and billionaire Bill Gates has announced that he has decided to give away 99% of his wealth to charity over the next two decades.
He said that this decision was influenced by Andrew Carnegie's statement, "A man who dies rich dies in disgrace."
"After my death, many things can be said about me. But I don't want them to say about me, 'He died rich,'" said Bill Gates.
The billionaire personally announced on his blog that all funds will be directed to preserving and improving the lives of people around the world through the Gates Foundation. The foundation will end its activities on December 31, 2045.
