Hamas activities officially banned in Switzerland
The activities of the Hamas movement and its affiliated organizations will be officially banned in Switzerland starting May 15 of this year. This decision was adopted by the country's Federal Council and announced on the official government portal.
The main purpose of the law is to combat Hamas' activities and prevent any form of support for it on Swiss territory, the resolution states.
The document will facilitate the application of criminal liability measures against individuals and entities involved in this activity. In particular, preventive measures will be introduced that will allow for the banning of their entry into the country and, if applicable, their expulsion from Switzerland.
The new law also aims to limit Hamas's ability to use the Swiss financial system.
According to a statement from the Federal Council, the document will enter into force without any alternative obstacles, as the deadline for submitting a referendum initiative on this law expires on April 19.
According to the information cited by TASS, the adoption of this law is closely related to the tense military-political situation in the Middle East.
