"Our goal is not to please the world, but to implement Sharia," said Afghan Justice Minister Abdulhakim Sheri, responding to criticism from Western governments against the introduction of Sharia law in the country.
On Monday, January 20, at an event held at the headquarters of the Afghan Ministry of Justice, Justice Minister Sheikhul Hadith Abdulhakim Sheri responded to criticism from Western governments regarding the introduction of Sharia law in the country.
"Our mission is not to please the world, but to implement Islamic law," he said.
Mufti Fazl Hodi Sahibzadeh also spoke at the event, noting that "the country's legislation was revised and changed after the Islamic Emirate came to power."
"Currently, all laws are derived from sources of ijtihad and approved by scholars," he said.
For your information, the UN had previously decided to maintain sanctions against Afghanistan.
