Pakistan Army: India attacked with missiles
The Pakistani military said India had targeted civilian areas and some military bases with ballistic missiles.
According to a statement released by the Pakistani government on social media, the Director General of the Pakistan Army's Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Corps General Ahmed Sherif Chaudhry, announced that 6 ballistic missiles were fired from the Indian village of Adampur.
According to Chaudhry, one of these missiles landed near Adampur, while the other five were recorded hitting the city of Amritsar in Punjab state.
According to him, the Indian army has targeted the country's Sikh community and stressed that any "terrorist acts" should be condemned.
Chaudhry said in a press conference late at night that Indian missiles targeted the Noor Khan air base near Islamabad, and the Murid and Sharkot bases in Chakwal district of Punjab, but that the Pakistani air force was operating normally.
Corps General Chaudhry said that India would be given a necessary response.
The Indian army has not yet issued a statement regarding the attack.
Indian media are claiming that explosions occurred in Rawalpindi, near the Pakistani capital Islamabad, and in the country's largest city, Lahore.
It should be recalled that India launched missile strikes on Pakistani territory and Pakistan-controlled Kashmir on May 6 in response to the terrorist attack in the Pahalgam region on April 22 that killed 26 people.
The Indian army said it had destroyed nine targets it described as "terrorist structures." Pakistan, on the other hand, said six civilian facilities were hit in the attack, killing 33 people and wounding 62.
According to the Pakistani military, five Indian fighter jets were shot down during the attack. However, India has not confirmed this.
