Pakistan releases thousands of Afghan prisoners
More than 4,200 Afghan prisoners have been released from prisons in Pakistan's Sindh province in the past two years. These prisoners include women and children who were detained for lack of documents. According to Consul General Abdul Jabbar Tahari, all the prisoners were deported to the country at the expense of the Afghan government.
Similar problems are also being observed in Iran. Afghan migrants are being detained there and forcibly deported. Recently, a delegation from the Afghan Supreme Court discussed with Iranian officials the possibility of transferring 1,500 Afghan prisoners to Afghanistan.
