A powerful explosion occurred in the southern Iranian city of Bandar Abbas, where the main naval base of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is located .

The head of the port's cargo terminal, Pajmon Behzodpour, stated that the explosion was not related to the cargo receiving terminal or the warehouse where dangerous goods were stored.


Iran's National Oil Company for Production and Distribution said the incident had no impact on the country's oil infrastructure - refineries and pipelines - and that all were operating normally.
