Swiss prosecutors are considering charges against the Israeli president
Swiss prosecutors are investigating several lawsuits against Israeli President Isaac Herzog, accusing him of "calling for genocide in the Gaza Strip." The lawsuits were filed by non-governmental organizations after Herzog gave a speech at the Davos Economic Forum.
One of these lawsuits was filed by the organization Legal Action Against Genocide, which alleges that Herzog called for genocide and war crimes to be committed in the Gaza Strip.
Israel has denied the allegations, saying Hamas fighters were using civilians as human shields. Herzog's Davos speech and the allegations have prompted an investigation by Swiss prosecutors. Last year, similar charges were filed against Herzog, but the case was dismissed.
Swiss prosecutors are currently investigating the Duke's diplomatic immunity, and full details of the allegations have not been released.
