The UAE is condemning the people of Sudan to starvation
A video has gone viral on social media showing a group of Sudanese women praying for food so they don't starve to death.
Currently, there is a food crisis in the Al-Fashir region of Sudan - people are dying of hunger. For two years, a bloody war has been going on between General Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo of the Rapid Action Force (RSF) and the commander of the regular army, Abdul Fattah al-Burhan. Thousands of Muslims are being killed.
As a war-making power, the UAE is reportedly supplying the RSF with weapons and ammunition: according to official figures, it received $2.3 billion in Sudanese gold in exchange for this in 2022. However, the real figures are much higher - about 90% of Sudanese gold (about $13.4 billion) is smuggled into the UAE through neighboring countries.
This support has prolonged the conflict and pushed 26 million Sudanese to the brink of starvation.
