The US has imposed another restriction on Russia
The US government has restricted access to major medical databases for scientists and organizations from "states of concern" - China, Cuba, Iran, Venezuela, and Russia.
The US National Institutes of Health (NIH) confirmed in a statement that access to "controlled data repositories" is limited, the Kommersant newspaper reported.
According to the publication, these closed databases contain important information about American citizens - information about people diagnosed with alcohol or drug addiction, oncology and other serious illnesses, including Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease.
Scientists who spoke to Kommersant said that the lack of access to this information makes it much more difficult to conduct research and develop new medicines in Russia.
