"At least nine civilians were killed and nine others were injured in US airstrikes in Yemen's Sana'a province," a spokesman for the Houthi-controlled Yemeni Ministry of Health said.

According to the organization's press service, the US strikes targeted residential areas in the northern district of Sana'a. Another report said that black smoke was rising above the Sana'a airport complex. France 24 reported that a large military facility is located in the area.

Earlier, the US president announced on social media that he had ordered a series of airstrikes on the Yemeni capital, Sana'a. He vowed to use "the full force of destructive force" until the Houthis stopped attacking Israeli ships in the Gulf of Aden.

"Today, I have ordered the United States Armed Forces to begin decisive and forceful military action against Houthi terrorists in Yemen. I call on the Houthis to immediately cease their attacks or you will be met with hell like you have never seen before," Trump wrote.

He also warned Iran in his post, calling on Tehran to "immediately stop supporting Houthi terrorists." Otherwise, he threatened, "America will hold you accountable!"

It should be noted that during Israel's military campaign in the Gaza Strip, the Houthis have launched rocket and drone strikes on more than 100 Israeli merchant ships. In January, after Israel agreed to a ceasefire in Gaza, the Houthis suspended their attacks, issuing a stern warning to the Netanyahu government.
