100 wounded Palestinian women and children, along with their companions, have been evacuated to Uzbekistan, Uzbekistan's ambassador to Cairo, Mansurbek Kilichev, reported.

This evacuation operation was carried out at the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in cooperation with the Ministries of Health of the two countries, the report said.

Kilichev said the evacuated Palestinians will remain in Uzbekistan until they return to their homeland. These sick Palestinians will be placed in rehabilitation centers and hospitals for treatment and recovery, Kilichev added.

The Uzbek government also provides them with all the needs of their families during their stay in the country, including hotels, schools, food, and more.

The ambassador said that in his speech before the extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit on the Palestinian issue in November 2024, the President of Uzbekistan stressed the importance of stopping military operations in the Palestinian territories and ensuring safe humanitarian corridors, and expressed Tashkent's readiness to receive injured Palestinian children and women for treatment.
