Ten people have been sentenced in the Komil Allamjonov assassination case. On October 26, 2024, shots were fired at the car in which Allamjonov was sitting in Kibray, but he was not injured. A criminal case was subsequently opened, and Javlon Yunusov and other suspects were arrested.
According to the Supreme Court, the main defendants Shukhrat Rasulov, Shohrukh Ahmedov, and Ismail Jahongirov were sentenced to 23 years in prison. Javlon Yunusov was sentenced to 18 years and 6 months, and Doniyor Toshkhodjaev to 7 years. Five other individuals were sentenced to varying terms of imprisonment.
In December, Bislan Rasaev and Shamil Temirkhanov (Russian citizens) were placed on an international wanted list through Interpol. They were charged with illegal entry into Uzbekistan, concealment of a crime, and violation of the rules for the circulation of weapons.
According to press reports, they received a $1.5 million reward for the killing of Allamzhanov and Dmitry Li. Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov denied any Chechen involvement in the case, but threatened Allamzhanov and Li. This was sharply criticized by Uzbek politicians.
