"Open budget" or bureaucratic pressure?!
Recently, there has been a lot of controversy surrounding the vote-gathering process under the "Initiative Budget" project. According to reports, there have been cases of employees being forced to vote.
Reports have emerged in the Balikchi district of Andijan region that medical workers are being forced to collect votes. Instead of checking on the condition of patients, nurses are busy collecting votes on an online platform. At the same time, videos have also been circulating online showing schoolchildren being forced to collect votes during class.
In the city of Chirchik, audio recordings emerged showing teachers forcing parents to vote for the "Initiative Budget." The Tashkent Regional Education Department responded to the incident, stressing that there was no pressure, but the teacher noted that he had been forced by his management. Interestingly, the authorities, which considered this a "voluntary initiative," imposed disciplinary measures on the teacher.
Such cases indicate that the "Initiative Budget" process is moving away from the true essence. If the process is truly transparent and fair, why is there pressure on employees? Isn't it completely contrary to the purpose of this project that medical workers are distracted from their duties and students are disconnected from the educational process? There are many questions, and the answers still remain vague.
