"Religious concept" in practice: Uzbek artists warned not to promote "this or that religion"
Yesterday, March 3, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Culture on the cultural and educational work being carried out in concert and performance activities in Uzbekistan and on the topic of "Artist Etiquette".
According to the ministry's press service, the event was attended by law enforcement officers, First Deputy Minister of Culture Bahodir Ahmedov, press secretary of the religious committee Ilhom Ma'rufov, the leadership of "Uzbekkontsert", and singers.
The meeting discussed the content of the "Concept of State Policy in the Religious Sphere", and it was noted that, in accordance with the law "On Licensing, Permitting and Notification Procedures", Uzbek artists must comply with mandatory requirements and "not promote one religion or another in the concert and entertainment sector."
