A new position has been created at the embassy in Moscow to protect the rights and interests of Uzbek citizens, combat crime, and strengthen cooperation with Russian law enforcement agencies.

In this regard, the position of First Secretary - a representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan (MIA) - was introduced at the embassy. This initiative was implemented in accordance with the December 13 decree of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on improving the efficiency of the activities of embassies.

The representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs performs the following duties:

Strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia in the fight against crime and ensuring public safety;

Coordinate measures to combat problems such as organized crime, terrorism, extremism, human trafficking, and illegal migration;

Assisting consular activities in protecting the rights and interests of citizens of Uzbekistan;

Receiving and reviewing complaints about crimes and offenses in accordance with the legislation of Uzbekistan.

The MIA representative works closely with the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, organizing cooperation in the rapid exchange of information and the detection of crimes.

It is carried out by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan in consultation with the President. By virtue of his powers, the representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is accountable to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan.

This initiative will serve to protect the interests of Uzbek citizens in Russia and further strengthen security cooperation between the two countries.
