Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Muzaffarbek Madrahimov and US Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Affairs Brent Christensen signed a memorandum of understanding on nuclear cooperation.

Christensen noted that Washington expressed gratitude to Tashkent for cooperation on counterterrorism and other common security challenges.

A US State Department spokesperson wrote on the X social network that economic ties between the US and Uzbekistan are on a solid foundation. In particular, investment potential is growing in nuclear energy, key minerals, and other sectors.

He stated that the signing of the memorandum on nuclear cooperation will create a basis for broader cooperation between the two countries in the field of nuclear energy.
