The main swarms of locusts have been identified in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Khorezm, Bukhara, Navoi, Syrdarya and Tashkent regions. Chemical treatments against the saxaul bush locust are being carried out in these areas. According to the Plant Quarantine and Protection Agency, in 2025, locusts are projected to spread to more than 608 thousand hectares in Uzbekistan.
